your techniques
I'm carrying out a small survey to find out what physical techniques people are practising regularly for their own personel self defence.
Take care all and thank you

Re: your techniques
Hm, let me think...
Straight left and right, Hooks, Uppercuts, Powerslap, Facesmash, Craddle Strike, Elbow, Knees, Groin and Front Kick, The Stamp
That should be my favourites.
Oh, I prefer punching with closed fists...
Cheers

Re: your techniques
Boxing punches,judo 'kuzushi',slaps,elbows,gouging,poking and 'ripping'!
Plus I love to 'use me head',knees and feet when the situation dictates.
I haven't been training as much as I'd like to,and apart from boxing and judo I've not done much else.
I think it's worth mentioning, though, that the visualisation I've been doing has influenced what I've done for real probably more than the pad/bag/partner work.
This,as I'm sure you yourself know, shouldn't be overlooked.
Another interesting thing is that I've noticed that when I use something that works well for real, that 'positive reinforcement' as psychologists call it,is worth more for logging the thing on the hard-drive than any amount of training as far as I can see.
This seems to be happening with slaps, toe punts to the knackers, poking the eyes and good old fashioned shoving and charging for me.
Not to forget the training I do to cultivate aggression and what I call the 'Tasmanian Devil' routine (going off on one to switch on their adrenaline and 'back them off'),an idea that your posts helped cement in my mind(thanks mate!).
So,maybe I'd say that my own definition of training is quite fluid, really.
Stay safe.
Kemlyn.

Straights and elbows into the head. Along with palm hooks.
Knees and kicks to the legs and groin... and some Shredding, because I like it.

Re: your techniques
In no particular order I would say,
1. all types of eye strikes
2. crosses and hooks, ( including palm hooks and shovel hooks)
3. headbutts, knees, and elbows
4. the creasant strike to the throat, horizontal axe hand to the throat
5. the powerslap ( both left and right)
6. the seal blitz
7. shredding
8. the spike (a hybrid of the bear paw and the powerslap)
9. modified O'neill cover
10. talking hands, chamber ruses, and artifice

Re: your techniques
How about yo'self John?
What are you training right now?
Also, how much of a part does visualisation and mental training play in your routine?
Take care.

Re: your techniques
Nice and simple for me too
Slaps
Elbows
Hammerfist
Knees
When I have been put under pressure in certain training scenarios then hammerfist seems to come out very naturally.
