Just wanted to apologise to those people who turned up and found the club closed. While I informed others I've been so busy I forgot to update this page.

I've had to do a lot of traveling recently and could not get the club started as promised.

I will be opening up very soon, so please keep a lookout on this page, or give me a call before you go.

Also, judging by when most people were showing up, it seems the best times, so far, are Sundays.

Please let me know, by phone, if you would prefer Saturdays. If there are enough people, I'll get that going, too.

What a start. I drove to the club wondering if anyone will turn up. It was raining with wind from all directions. And I mean WIND!

I figured my first day was going to be a bust. Five minutes went by; then 10. I got ready and decided to do some warm up and calisthenics.

Heck, if no one else is gonna turn up then I'm getting a workout, at least.

Another five minutes later four brothers walk in with their dad. Well, Three brothers and a cousin.

Things were looking up.

I got them doing a few laps running, with press-ups in between. Did some stretches, squats and got started with the footwork.

People - especially kids - don't usually like footwork, but it's one of the most important things to get right. if you can't get into position during a fight you're stuffed.

Somehow I manged to get them enthusiastic about it and they loved it. Then onto punches, elbows and finally some kicks. The Muay Thai roundhouse kick to be exact.

They did deal, considering it was their first time doing any martial arts.

Finished off with more running, calisthenics and stretching.

A good start. Not bad for the first day.

Let's see if they come back next week.

Got home and had a call from someone asking if the adults' class is on tonight. So, I know there's going to be at least one person showing up there.

Reality based close quarter combat is my specialty. Looking forward to it.

Edit: Just did the evening session. One person turned up. Good enough to begin with. Especially as I had cancelled a few times.

He said he enjoyed it and thought it was a good class. That's all I'm saying. I don't want people calling me big-headed Smile.
