Mate,
I remember Bob mentinoning it once or twice...he had some connection with it but I'm not exactly sure what it was. I'm going to try and catch up with one day soon...I'll ask him then.

Hi Kotengu,
Eddie Emin could help you. He was a cab driver with Silver Tops back then and was involved with it getting started. From what he told me they had a series of assaults on drivers so they implemented self defense classes. Perhaps Kato Sensei was involved and it makes sense as Eddie was training in Kyokushin with him. But Kato Sensei was only there for 12 months in about 1967 or 68.
If I recall, Eddie mentioned that Jack Rozinsky was also part of the Silver Top gig so maybe you could ask him more.
Cheers
Cam Quinn

Hello Kotengu
Shihan Eddie Emin here.
I used to run the club with Billy Brain, Frank Clarke who unfortunately are now passed away.
Jack Rozinsky also used to train with us.
If there is anything I can help you with please just ask.

Mr Amin,
Welcome to the forum...you might not remember but I met you years ago. Bob Jones, Kon Brousalis and I all drove out to your school to help you with a grading. I took a class at one point for some of your students....great bunch of guys.

I have just joined the group, and noticed the old request about the Silvertop club.
I have the club records, newspaper articles and photos past down to me by Bill Brain,
the man who took over from Frank Clarke as head instructor.
I also have the grading information and when members joined.
Also for those that like to follow Eddie Emin, I have photos of him taken when he
was a brown belt in the early 1960s, with Bill brain as a black belt in the same photo.
Lots of good information. I have planned to produce a book about the club, as soon as I
finish the current book I am writing. (not about martial arts).
