Newbie looking for advice
As the header states, im new to self defence but reall want something that will work if my life depends on it. I saw this video on youtube and was wondering if anyone heard of him and if he's a good source to learn from. I signed up for his free training on his site and have learned alot but once again im a newbie so i have nothing to compare it to. Once again i dont want to spend my time (i dont have alot of it as is) learning something that doesnt work.
Thanks in advanced for any input that could help me out

So he is saying, don't spar, don't block, get stuck in and keep going.
Nothing wrong with that.

I've never met the guy but from what I've seen of Adam Chan, I think he's going in the right direction.

Looks to me to be another dude who wants to reinvent the wheel mate, nowt wrong though if you get inspiration from it, I personally would find my own way, but we are all different.

Yep, we are all different.
Some people have vastly different experiences when it comes to their backgrounds and their exposure to real world violence and confrontation.
You're own way is, eventually, the best way but most people need a guiding hand to lead them towards it.

Re: Newbie looking for advice
very true .. I have been in the martial arts for over 50 years and have yet to see anyone really good who has done it all alone
seek out decent instructors and then 'mould' what you learn ot fit yourself.. but I dont believe you can gain a high standard without tuition, especially in the earlys days/years

Re: Newbie looking for advice
I like Adams approach, there are alot of the points of good self defence movement in there, such as being Preemptive, hitting more than once, moving forward and if you get the chance running away. I can't argue with any of those facts.
