Re: He's checking his list...
I'm happy as long as I have family and friends safe and sound and a nice crisp Christmas morning so I can enjoy my run.
I've got a pile of books to read
A pile of DVD's to watch
A pile of games to play
none of which I will likely do!!

what instruments you play? I've been learning the classical guitar. love that sound. not the sound i make though!
Re: He's checking his list...
Played the guitar for a long time now and have since branched out into the Banjo and more recently the Mandolin, which I'm determined to learn by ear alone. Also go throuh the basics on a Bass guitar sometimes for friends.
You play a nylon string job? I could ever get away with classical guitars myself, though that's probably cos I'm more used to the conventional guitars.
Do you have that same problem that you go into a shop and then have to leave quicky cos you really want to by an expensive guitar that you blatantly can't afford.. 'but it plays sooo nice' lol
What make is your guitar? I'm using this atm

What style do you prefer for the banjo. I started with Scruggs but switched to clawhammer.
Not that I am any good with either mind

Re: He's checking his list...
I play folk style, basicaly the same as fingerstyle fo the guitar... I dabled in frailing a couple of times but couldn't get away with it. Ironaically my banjo is one suited for frailing and not fingerstyle lol
I'm not 100% sure i think scrugs and folk style are similar.

thats basicaly what I mean by fok style, Im aware don't have the best voice though

Yeah. Well 3 strings are wrapped in metal. but as far as i know classical is nylon strings. I love classical music, which made me pick it.
I initially started back home with an electric guitar & amp. I like classical music played on it also.

Mine's just a cheap Ferrer 3/4 guitar. Not in the same league as your's at all. Once i get to grips with it though i know i'll look to playing a far better quality though. I get side-tracked a lot mate. Have just learned basic arpegios. Strumming. and recenlty got my fingers to do the chromatic scale. working on the notes now. I'm left handed but am using a right handed guitar as a right-hands person. I balanced up the idea that i can get the notes better for the classical with my dominant left hand. Is that a good theory? I'd appreciate the advice.
Warmest wishes
Wayne

Nicely played! I thought you said you were a beginner? I couldnt cope with playing and singing. I struggle not to just stick my tongue out while I concentrate never mind sing along
Scruggs style is similar to fingerstyle but Scruggs style uses picks fingers and thumb.

Watch your mouth or I'll make you squeal like a pig boy
Actually, the famous tune "duelling banjo's" isn't difficult as its a very simple melody to play. The trouble is it is soooo fast.
The first tune most people learn on the banjo and the one which is used as a measure of skill is this one
Which I suppose is also a bit "Deliverance".
Hey, I've just realised I have cowboy boots and a stetson too. Uh oh
