The Ultimate Horror Movie Thread!
In this thread i will talk about the movies and review them as i watch them.
I encourage all others to do the same! This thread is also for general discussion about any past/present/future horror movies!
Both classic and modern! Could include ghosts, zombies, serial killer movies etc
I own a few and will chat about them here at points.
Most recent one i watched was I am legend
I really like this movie, abit like 28 days later and walking the dead, interesting how it shows will smith
talking to dolls in order to speak to something, it made me jump at points though! the scene with the dog was
sad. but overall a good movie. wish the movie went into more detail on how he ended up being the only one left.
Want to see scream 4 when i can.

Re: The Ultimate Horror Movie Thread!
I found I am Legend disappointing...probably because i just cannot take Will Smith seriously ...and the film simply didn't "engage" me,i kept losing interest.
...and i much preferred the zombies in 28 Days Later
I think my all time favourite has to be The Exorcist, one of the few genuinely disturbing films ever made.
p.s.If you ever get a chance, watch an old black and white film called "Night of the Demon"

Yeah, the Japanese film makers really know how to mess with your mind, don't they.
...as does Stephen King,The Shining has to be another one of my top horrors.

Re: The Ultimate Horror Movie Thread!
I went to see "Insidious" last night. There were more than a few people who screamed in the cinema and the guy in the seat in front of me launched his popcorn at one point. It was hilarious listening to one twerp in the cinema trying to sound tough by loudly saying what he would do if it were him in that situation. I suspect he had screamed in front of his girlfriend and was feeling a bit silly!
Afterwards, I was the one who had to go downstairs to make coffee and supper as my girlfriend was scared to, so if horror's are your thing I would recomend it

Re: The Ultimate Horror Movie Thread!
I am legend is not as good as the version with Charlton Heston. But rather than either, read the book would be my suggestion.
Alien, that's a proper horror movie!

when me and my girlfriend went to see paranormal activity 2 it scared her for ages! if she neded the toilet in the night i had to go with her or i had to go down stairs for drinks etc, for the first few days if our baby was crying i had to go check haha, made it worse that theres a baby in the film!

Re: The Ultimate Horror Movie Thread!
George a Romero DAWN OF THE DEAD, greatest zombie/horror movie ever loads of gore and good storyline, great film!!!!! Also should give the following a mention: Return of the living dead (cult comedy horror), Friday the 13th part 2 (the best of the series), The evil dead (classic), Halloween.

There is a French zombie film (yes that's right) called LE HORDE which i downloaded in original version with spanish subtitles.
Corrupt police officers trying to get revenge on some local drug dealers and they all get into a zombie breakdown.

Re: The Ultimate Horror Movie Thread!
I could go on for ages, will say the less well known so you can have a blast.
Spanish horror movie called REC (a third part is going to be released),the americans have made a remake (like always) called Quarentaine.
A news reporter and her camera are making a documentary in an old building in Barcelona when an infection starts spreading betwen the neighbours.
For gore classics BRAINDEAD and BAD TASTE before Peter Jackson got famous for making Lord of the rings.
Recently watched ILS (french for THEM) even not an horror movie per se you will not sleep well for a couple of nights...

Re: The Ultimate Horror Movie Thread!
Not strictly horror but definitely on the lines of Se7en is a Korean movie called I Saw The Devil. If you've seen Oldboy, Choi Min Sik is the serial killer in this one and when he kills the wife of a Secret Service Agent it kicks off a gruelling a cat and mouse revenge story which includes an insane 3 way knife fight in a speeding taxi. No slappy trappy stuff, just who can stab the fastest. There are some grim scenes and I think it's the only movie I've been in where a couple of people walked our. Here's the trailer:

I like the Walking Dead and am up to speed with the comics version as well. Season 2 has just started but I don't have sky or anything so I'll wait to see it on Channel 5. The World War Z movie comes out next year and the book was way better than I thought it would be.
Anyone seen the Paranormal Activity movies? I've not seen any yet but have heard that they are 'sleep with the lights on' movies. Not that anyone on this forum would ever do that!

i've only seen the first Paranormal Activity movie Fraze, but it impressed me! Well worth watching, lot's of "suggested" horror and a few genuine "WTF!" moments.
...and in my house, the light sleeps with me on!

Re: The Ultimate Horror Movie Thread!
I don't mind admitting that that movie "The Entity" gave me a mega stiff one. A stiff neck I mean. I was sat throughout the whole film absolutely rigid with terror. It's a genuinely frightening movie.
Also, has anyone seen that movie with the CGI dog that goes around with Sarah Michelle Geller and some dumpy fat bird? Scared the crap out of me.
