Identity theft / Paper shredder

Thanks for sticking with the forum!

I remember you talking about how important it is to shred unwanted documents to prevent identity theft on your blog. Well, one of my friends just got her identity cloned and her bank account emptied. I took the hint and went and brought an electric paper shredder.

The problem is that I have years and years worth of bank statements. Putting them through the shredder, even at five a time, is driving me mad. It will take me years! And now I've messed up the shredder by overloading it.

Have you got any clever solutions for shredding tons of paper in one go?

Not sure how it works in the UK but over here there are companies who do it on a commercial level for businesses that generate tons of paperwork.

I'd poke around and find one of them. They may offer a one off or maybe you could track down one of the trucks and offer the driver some baksheesh to throw your lot in with one of his regular shipments.

Seriously though,put them in a barrel with some kind of liquid to delete it.

The flamenco party might just work... this side of Barcelona is more Andalucia than Catalonia!

Any ideas on what liquid would work? I've got all the documents in a plastic box, so it would be fairly easy.

Brake fluid will lift ink off paper.
