hi steve,

Can i ask how do you recommend training so that your mindset, when the adrenaline dump hits the body, becomes predatory? in your opinion should you use something as a trigger to switch on that killer instinct?? if so whats your approach ?

all the best

I don't have an adrenaline dump that I know of, although my partner has observed that I get anxious about doing little things, especially involving bureaucracy. Left-brain shit, I break out in a cold sweat.

In an emergency, though, I'm really switched on. It's where I'm happy.

That's why to a degree I can only speculate; I've never been there so I don't know. I want to fight; I'm geared up differently.

I do think it's been documented that the nature of predators is more noradrenaline. Adrenaline is the prey response. Noradrenaline in the predator. IT's a bit like the difference between jumping out the plane or being pushed. You want to jump.

I have various ways of training people to become more like the predator, but the main point is that you want to change the way you think. Stop playing the self-defence role. Be a fighter. The defence will then come naturally out of that.

You've got to dominate the situation (naturally, in a way that's appropriate to the level of threat, not overkill) If you're having to deal with adrenaline dump, then you've already got off on the wrong foot.

I've just talked about this here https://selfprotection.forumotion.com/Q-A-with-Steve-Morris-f16/Dojo-Martial-Artist-t4522.htm

And if you've looked at the other information that guys have posted on this thread, you'll see that I do it by creating a situation where you have a mission and you've only got so many seconds to achieve your mission against somebody who has also got a mission in direct opposition to yours. This will bring out the violent, competitive mindset that I want. And I'll keep repeating that until it's imprinted.
