Re: Found an article on "purring"
I am a bit 'old fashioned' mate.. the only stuff I EVER found was in dusty old library books..
The 'Book of Leinster' if you can get a hold of it (I had to get permission at Manchester Library in the Research section to view it) has some material on 'Purring' as does an old welsh translation book which was called (with apologies to our welsh friends) something like "Mabonigog??? or similar.
It was a book on welsh legends and purring was mentioned in relation to the 'Mountain Fighters'.. a rare and tough breed of men.. bloody tough
but thats about my limits

Interesting article.
Out of curiosity, which dvd are you talking about?
I'd only heard of purring in an old martial arts book from the '50's that I have in my collection, and I'd be interested to see something on video.
Thanks.

Re: Found an article on "purring"
I have produced several 'sets' of DVD's on various aspects of personal combat.
1. The Modern Street Combat double disc set
2. The 7 set series on aspects like sticks, atemi, pressure points, street takedowns and so on
and the most recent set are 'old' methods re-hashed/adapted for todays environments
these include
Savaux and Chausson with Purring
Some Pugilism
Single stick (a la James Figg)
and others
cheers
