Too Damn Cool - Kelly McCann
Just found out I'm going to be hanging out with Kelly McCann and his crew doing some shooting, training and tattooing him and his guys. Yeehaw...living the dream.

Sounds very cosy....
Sounds like you're going to let him show you how he uses his open hand, whilst you show him just how you use your fist?

He's young in service, and New Zealand is reputed to be 50 years behind us,
He'll soon be appreciating the dishonesty..... ha ha.

Having lived in both London and NZ, I can honestly say that NZ is probably only 30 years behind the UK.......give or take.

In many ways NZ is streets ahead of the UK.

Absolutey Ron.
One of those is time difference. Usually we are around 12 hours ahead. Streets ahead!

Re: Too Damn Cool - Kelly McCann
That is for sure. I quite like the 1/4 acre thing.....space is good. Additionally, despite winter being a little sucky here, at least summer lasts longer than 3 weeks.

Re: Too Damn Cool - Kelly McCann
I own, operate and tattoo in Sinners&SaintsTattoos.com.
I teach Krav at KravMagaLKN.
I'm in the middle of filming Deadliest Warrior for Spike TV
I'm in talks with the producers (same guys who did "Miami Ink") about a reality tattoo show
I write on the side - got one book being shopped by my agent and several articles nearing completion.
Back in July I filmed two days of self defense lessons for an organization that is going to put a school in ever Super Wal-Mart across the country. Matt Hughes is working for the same crew filming MMA, they have one of the guys from the Power Rangers, Turtle movies teaching the flash stuff, a girl teaching Cage Fitness and a freestyle American Karate instructor involved as well. The lessons will be beamed into the schools from the film studio in Florida nationwide to ensure consistency.
Century martial arts has approached me to go to Vegas to the Super Martial Arts Convention next July.
I'm working on my personal trainer certification and awaiting tryouts for the local volunteer fire department.
Last, but not least, I'm thinking about getting a degree in Psychology. Not 100% sure because of the time/money involved but I'm giving it serious consideration. If I do it, it will be a part time thing and probably take me about 8 years as opposed to four.
I know that looks like a lot but the tattoo shop opens at 1pm and closes whenever. Krav is only 2 nights per week. The filming for DW when done (I leave for LA again next week) is over and then in the hands of the editors etc. The talks re the reality show may amount to nothing. The writing is done between tattoos in the shop (lots of down time during the slow season). The FL gig is done and in the can (it will lead to seminars nationwide but there weekend gigs). The supershow is only 3 days. The personal training will be taught in the mornings before the shop opens and the fire dept is volunteer meaning you only work when you can. (I could for eg spend nights there after I'm done slinging ink).

Re: Too Damn Cool - Kelly McCann
I was a real estate agent specializing in high end properties but, when the market took a down turn that section of the market was especially hard hit due to nobody offering jumbo loans (loans for properties valued at over 475k) so I went back into tattooing. It's largely recession proof and much better cash flow.
If I was you I would read the book "What Color is Your Parachute." That will sort you out in short order.
