happy new year everyone. ive been away on holiday and returned a couple of days ago to find richies "violent intent" dvd in my mail box.
so whats it like, you may ask?

well it gets from me. finally someone has addressed the most important aspect of a real fight. its a simple message that people often talk about but imo generally fail to really get the point across. well richie and chris deliver the message with a sledgehammer.
it really has the potential to send waves through the martial arts and so-called rbsd communities. i wonder if theyre ready for it?

just watched the two youtube clips. What you state is very true.
The main difficulty for well-educated citizens who train in order to PROTECT themselves, is to SWITCH-ON/SWITCH-OFF the predatory mindset.
I remember Bob Spour saying in his dvds that you must be aware, so that surprise in on YOUR side; that's key I think; but the ability to switch on/off the right fighting mindset is even more difficult. In fact, a violent rotten thug inclines toward violence, thus he can more easily become "fighter" -- what kind of mental and physical exercise would you advise to acquire this capability?

I would advise you buy all my psychology of violence cds and attend my seminar in the wirral this saturday!

...its a pretty big field of study mate and the question you have asked is the one that Ive been focussed on answering the last few months, certainly couldnt give you a quick response here but have tried to answer it with the NLP cds and certain dvds like no doubt no fear, functional nlp (both with Bob), and the violent intent and the two fence dvds (one with ed baker, one with chris t.)

i work on this as much as possible when classes allow, causing adrenal dump half way through instructing a relevant technique.
it takes quite a while to get a regular class of guys/girls together as they all have to learn how to make the situation as live as possible which requires feeling like a bit of a tit at first,lol.
i was getting there before xmas with a great bunch of lads but sadly one badly injured his shoulder throwing a hook so they havnt all been back for my street stuff in a while:( they all shared the same car you see. in the dvd we both talk about thinking like a thug, which is exactly how you have to start thinking. easier said than done i admit but it is a mindset that is attainable with enough exposure to adrenalin/conflict/ violence. 17 years on the doors tends to lend itself well to this sort of conditioning, he he. anyway im glad you like the dvd folks.
