Re: Malcolm Anderson Question
Mate,
You might be getting confused with Tony Quinn. Mal was never a big kicker prefering instead to use his hands in close to devestating effect. His favourite kicks on the rare occasions that he sparred in the dojo weree groin kicks, front kicks and footsweeps. He was phenomenal at catching YOUR kick though and dumping you on your swede.
Nick
PS: He could do them all mind you...he was the one who taught all of us so, while he didn't use them as much himself, he certainly had them all down pat to be able to demonstrate in class etc.

Re: Malcolm Anderson Question
I remember Mal used to be quite fond of the Switch Hook, and bloody good at it. He once destroyed a focus mitt with 3 of them, i imagine the guys hand inside the Mitt was a bit sore after it as well.

Re: Malcolm Anderson Question
When I trained under Mal he hadn't incorporated any Muy Thai stuff at all. His favourite techniques were straight left and rights, backfists, rips and ridgehands.
Nick
PS: He used elbows in the street a lot.

Re: Malcolm Anderson Question
Few more questions :-)
1. What type of rips he used?
2. You talked that he drank blood to get more aggressive. How aggressive is he?? Doesnt effect that his fighting ability. Because i think you better stay cool in a fight...
3. Do you know how he changed from the skinny guy he was (saw some old pics) to the hm let me say massive bodytype he has now.
Thanks

Re: Malcolm Anderson Question
Re rips...short vicious uppercuts (shita tsuke) to the body
Pretty aggressive. No, aggression has nothing to do with losing your cool in a fight.
Heavy weight training.
