Foregn Leigon knife fighting

I heard something interesting yesterday that I thought I'd check up with you mate.

Is it true that in the Leigon knife fighting is taught by pairing everyone up and giving them live blades and telling them to get on with it?

It's bollocks mate. Some of us used to work with live blades (and some of us went to the infirmerie afterwards to have stitches put in also ) but the intro was either with the scabbard or a wooden replica.

While we're on the subject what kind of drills ect did they use?

The traditional Legion unarmed combat was along the lines of the old "he comes at you like this and you do that"

Whenever I taught I would incorporate stuff from my other arts but that was not the norm...so, to answer your questions...no drills per se.
