fixing a bag on the floor
any idea how to fix my long bag to the floor? basically i don't want it swinging.
i can alter its chains so it touches on the floor but i want it to take the full impact without moving

Re: fixing a bag on the floor
I've seen guys put a u-bolt into the floor and attach a bungee cord to it and the bottom of the bag. Depending of the resistance of the bungee it will allow it to move but swing right back.

thanks Nick for the reply.
actually I'm now having second thoughts about fixing it as i have it fitted to a 20ft scaffold pole traversing my gym, I remember seeing a MA film where the instructor chased the bag as it moved along the pole.
i could fix it so as i hit or kicked the bag it moved with the impact, then chase it across the room.
might give it a try to see if I can get a good ( or interesting) workout

Why not do both? If you had a bungee cord attached it would be a pretty simple matter to unhook it and chase the bag wouldn't it?

Staple two tyres together with a board at the bottom. Stick the bag in and pour plaster of Paris or cement into it and keep it straight till it's dry.
I had something similar in my last home. Worked a treat.
Make sure to put something surrounding he bag so you can lift it in and out as needed. Like a plastic sleeve.
