Re: Itay Gil
I have seen some of his stuff on youtube and it seems ok, he might be coming to my neck of the woods for seminars etc so I plan to go based on that !

Never trained with him, or ever heard of him. Why not just go and form your own opinion.

Re: Itay Gil
Sam,
Because it costs money...in some cases a lot of money. Wouldn't it be better to ask the opinions of guys on here in case someone knows of him and can tell you either a) it's worth it or b) he's as much use a snooze button on a smoke alarm.
Of course if nobody knows then yep, sometimes you just have to pony up and go and find out.

That's a Fair point Nick, A lot of instructors do charge ridiculous seminar fees, and on retrospect my one sentence answer was b) as much use a snooze button on a smoke alarm.
In my defense, Ace Doesn't state a cost in his posts. Therefore i assume that he is willing to pay for a seminar and go train with him.
In that case he's just asking for peoples opinions and opinions are subjective to the individual.
I don't know Ace's skill level he may be (possibly is) far more advanced in self protection than myself.
Therefore if I had trained with the guy I could suggest that he was the bees knees and should not be missed out on. Ace then might go and spend his money based on my opinion not enjoy
it and think b) he's as much use a snooze button on a smoke alarm.
So my point is if 10 people replied to the original post and 7 out of the 10 thought he was not very good, if the seminar is only £20/£30 it might be worth just going down and forming his own opinion. If the seminar/training is £100+ for 2 hours etc then the opinions might swing him not to bother.
On the other hand 7 out of the 10 might think he's worth it and Ace could turn up pay his money and think it's a pile of rubbish.
Just my opinion....

Re: Itay Gil
Hi Sam
Nick has hit the nail on the head. There are a few guys on here who's opinions I trust and I thought may well of known about the guy. Especially people with a Krav background.
If it was a £20 spot and just up the road then I would indeed have paid my money and seen but it isn't. I could have wriiten a lot of background but I didn't want to bore people!
If I came on asking about a guy named Kaarl you would have seen some response

Re: Itay Gil
FWIW, I know of a couple of Instructors who have just hosted him. One in N. Ireland, the other is from Sheffield. Both give Italy glowing reports. As do the students who attended, that i've been able to know about via social media, etc. I've never trained with him personally, so can't go beyond what i've already said.
I can PM the names of the two Instructors to anyone, and they can ask them direct.
warmest wishes
