Deadliest Warrior Empty Deadliest Warrior

Post  Nick Hughes Wed Oct 27, 2010 8:58 pm

Just found out I will be on the US TV show called "Deadliest Warrior" in the very near future.

For those not familiar with the format - and I wasn't - it attempts to figure out through comparison of weapons, computer simulations, etc who would be the winner between for example...

An American Indian v A Viking

A Conquistador v A Spartan

A Massai Warrior v A Maori

A US Seal v Israeli Commandos

and so on.

I don't have a tv but I did watch an episode online...seems like it should be fun.

I have caught bits of the show. Looked a little flawed if it is taking itself too seriously as the "comparisons" cannot really be made. But still an entertaining watch and good luck on it.

You going to be in a Legionnairre versus something else thing?

This is the same show which had a season finale featuring the IRA versus Al-Qaeda in what looked like a supermarket car park. The Spetsnaz versus Green Beret episode was pretty good though.

Might be nothing to do with the Foreign Legion.

How about Karate versus Pom Pom dancers?

Close call in my view. Those girls are armed after all.

I saw a riveting episode of Deadliest Warrior once They had some sort of Black Ops, special forces guy, versus some sort of peace loving native from an obscure hunter gatherer tribe in Micronesia.

The poor Micronesian got mullered. His blunt hollow little stick, and garland of flowers, were no match for the Black Ops guy's machine guy, and grenades.

Please forward me any links to the episode BN. As part of the imperialist western world, I thrive on seeing our superior armed forces conquering and destroying more primitive cultures. Survival of the fittest isn't it?

that god I had my anti sarcasm goggles on before I came in here Smile saved me reading most of this lol

I've watched a couple of episodes. I liked the William Wallace Vs Shaka Zulu one. Got to admit though I don't think it proves a blood thing. I was irritated by the Green.... Hat ( ok ok I can't spell it) vs the spetz cos it was comparing a gun to a gun.... which seemed silly to me, though the tests were fun to watch...

Hi Nobody,

There aren't any clips or links as far as I am aware. They were pulled for some reason.

You should have seen the episode with the Pygmy from the Amazon Delta vs. the Spetsnaz soldier though.

The Pygymy had a little catapult type thing that fired mud pellets about three feet, and the Spetsnaz guy had some sort of machine gun that discharged about six thousand rounds a minute. I remember thinking, "this won't end well................ for the Pygmy."

I was right.

For close quarter work, the Pygmy had a little wooden spoon and a loincloth for protection. The Russian had a dagger, a bigger dagger, an even bigger dagger, a hatchet, and garroting wire. The Russkie was also encased in kevlar body armour.

Shortest episode ever. Sad

Does sound like a pretty fair fight to me BN.

I would like to see fights that cross time lines.

For example:

I would like to see a 1960's, long haired, dope smoking, tie dyed shirt wearing, tree hugging hippie vs a 1940's Nazi Germany SS soldier.
