Re: 2009
Just missed out on me 2 hours...... and way behind with the KB and the waist measurement!
But I am far better than I would have been without having the goal in the first place.
Great thread Nick. Let's hope more take part in the 2010 version!

1 - Complete fully kitted up Paras10 race in under 2 hours, and raise £1,000 minimum for Help the Heroes and Air Training Corps.

2 - Pyramid a 24 kilo kettle bell snatch from 1 to 10, and then back to 1 again (totals to 50 reps each side) non stop.
3 - Have a chest size more than 10 inches bigger than my waist.
4 - Ensure none of my cops get any extra orifaces.
5 - Keep the family happy and safe, with my sons continuin to develop at the rate they have done so all their lives.
This was the best thead of the year in many ways in my view. Not many takers though! Here's my end of year failure report!
1 - Nearly under 2 hours..... but I'm counting this as a success.
2 - Fail. Bad back and poor determination. One for next year when Nick puts the thread up!
3 - Our survey said? Ur URRRRRRR! As 2 above.
4 - Thankfully this seemed to go well. Some minor injuries but nothing classed as serious.
5 - Success.
Anyone else for thei end of year reports. Pass or fail, I'm better than I would have been without the target!

Re: 2009
Before I launch the 2010 version there's a good drill to help you improve on next years performance and that's the AAR
1. What were your 3 biggest accomplishments in 09?
2. What did you learn from each of them?
3. What were the 3 biggest disappointments?
4. What preceded them, what caused them, what could you have done differently etc?
5. How did you limit yourself? Were there certain patterns that kept repeating?
This exercise is a good one to help you realize you might be limiting yourself by things like procrastination, self-sabotage, taking on too many projects etc.
If a common theme does arise tackle that first i.e. if you procrastinate buy a book on how to stop, if you take on too much stuff learn to say "No" to people etc.
Doing this often creates one of those "aha" moments and will help with tackling next years' goals.
Nick
PS: Approx 17 days till the end of the year so it's not over yet by the way.
You might want to try this...let's say you had a big arsed goal to lose 200 pounds in a month and now you realize it's not going to happen. Rather than give up and log it as a failure tackle a smaller goal instead like giving up soft drinks, or walking every day. Doing this smaller goal, and achieving it, keeps the momentum going and, a lot of big successes are made up of a multitude of small victories.
PPS: Can't wait for the 2010 one myself.
