Possible Training in the U.K.
Coops and I are looking to co teach some classes in the U.K. next year.
I am just pre judging how much interest there would be and which topics should be included.
( I'd love to do some firearms classes, but I guess that would have to be for police only)
Hopefully this post is not in violation of forum rules.

Hi there,
Yes, I'd like to attend, as would a few other people I know. Any CQC/Self Protection related topic would be great. Look forward to it.
Thanks - Giles

Re: Possible Training in the U.K.
If it's in London ( easiest place for Eurostar trains & planes ), I'll try to be there.
Many thanks for the project, anyway.

Re: Possible Training in the U.K.
Thanks, gentlemen
I will talk this over with Coops and let him handle all of the details.
Looking forward to making another trip over the "pond"
I'd also like to make a side trip to Scotland and visit the commando training center museum

You don't ask much Mr Temkin. I don't know, I leave a forum alone for a few days and here you are, running my life for me
I'm sure folks will appreciate that this little trip isn't going to be easy to put together, so please excuse me if we have to leave it until next year. We are going to need a working base, probably where I live, then we can travel down to the London area to do something (maybe an overnight stop - I know what you 'mericans are about our capotol city, even if it's not really England ). We could then also nip over to Dave T's to do something as well, if he wanted. The trip up to Scotland is no problem - we've been talking about a rail trip up there ourselves anyway. It can be done in a day, there and back.
Anything else you want whilst I'm on? a piece of the Crown Jewels..or maybe a brick from the tower of London. I know, we'll throw in a F&S dagger - there strewn all over the place.

Re: Possible Training in the U.K.
I am sure that Coops will do a simply "smashing" job of getting this set up.
And a fine excuse for me to revisit the London Dungen.

It will be the basics Karl. No concepts, exept those which are in the syllabus Matt teaches.

Here is a rundown on what we covered two years ago in a one day course.
Coops will have his own stuff to add to the two day class and I would like to add some knife defense.
 Hand To Hand Combat
Topics...
1) Purpose of the course was simply survival, with no attempt at teaching controlling tactics or non lethal techniques (or at least potentionally lethal techniques)
2) Principles of distancing and closing the gap via intercepting and the drop step.
Also covered positioning for both attack and defense.
3) Tigers claw.
4) Knee kick with forward drive.
Advancing knee kick drill. Followed by tiger claw/knee kick combinations.
5) Chin Jab with combinations.
6) Thumb gouge, cupped hand clout and Y of hand blow.
7) Edge of hand blows from various angles.
Various combinations with all blows.
9) Elbow jabs...up close and with a drop step
10) Using two techniques to break front hold.
11) Breaking front bear hug with arms pinned.
12) Breaking rear holds.
13) Pistol disarming.
14) Simple combat throws with combinations and finishing moves.
