Slow poke
Hi Dave,
Some time ago I was shown a nifty little trick and I hope I can explain it here
If you stand face to face with someone and then slowly raise your hand up just to the side of their vision you can happily put your thumb in their eye and latch on to pagger them. It even works when someone knows you are going to do it. This appears to work because your movements are too slow for the brain to respond with a twitch.
Do you have any experience of this sort of thing?
Thanks
Pete

Re: Slow poke
Just to poke my nose in where it's probably not wanted...but Peter Consterdine in his PowerKick video goes on about just that, i.e. that your peripheral vision will pick up and react to fast movements, but - counterintuitively - slower movements will get through 'under the radar'.

Re: Slow poke
correct .. our 'danger signal recognition' bit of the brain is looking for sudden movements etc.. the slow move into has validity
