Hi Nick, Happy New Year.

If I remember correctly, your Zen-Do-Kai style is based on Goju-Ryu yes?

If so, what are your thoughts on Isshin-Ryu or Shorin-Ryu? How are they similar or different to Goju-Ryu?

Zen Do Kai was/is based heavily on Goju-kai yes. Isshin Ryu was a spin-off of Goju-ryu by a guy called Shimabaku (if memory serves) and is unique in that they punch with a vertical fist and they stick the thumb on top of said fist formation.

Not sure about Shorin-ryu mate, that's one you'd have to google and no doubt you'd find a history page out there somewhere.

Are you coming to Maryland in June? Doing a seminar for my mate's KM school...should be a blast...usual old wrecking crew on hand.

What are the dates and times of the seminar?

15th and 16th mate. Friday night - usually six pm till nine (ish) and then Saturday from probably ten till six or seven pm with a break for lunch. I'm pretty sure the host wants me to focus on knife work for this one.

Knife work eh? That sounds great because my weapons abilities rank up there with my ability to listen to Rosie ODonnell talk for an extended period of time.
