Re: Karl Blackwell MAI interview
Any chance we could have a breakdown of his current fitness and training routines?
I like feeling inspired/scared

Re: Karl Blackwell MAI interview
I'll ask him, although Karl wil be the first to admit that since he became a 'daddy' to his lovely 2 year old.. he trains less often.
However he is on a good maintenance programme in that he still pushes himself quite hard.
He does hill sprints around the many hills surrounding Conisbrough where he lives.. it's the hilliest bloody place I know.. he sprints up one hill, jog/runs to the next one up that and so on until he's had enough. Thats 3-4 times a week.
He's in the weights gym 3 times a week and spars boxing, kickboxing and grappling at separate sessions 2-3 times a week.
which is well down for Karl.. he used to have some marathon sessions.
the daftest or bravest (depending on your viewpoint) was when Karl and Paul Neilson (a 6ft 5ins 19stone ex pro boxer who was Lennox Lewis' Sparring partner) decided to have an all out boxing HEAVY sparring session for as long as they could manage.. they did 35 minutes non-stop.
Both had some wonderful lumps the next day
bear in mind that apart from his actual TRAINING, Karl instructs with and without me, teaches boxing and works the doors 2 nights a week as well.
Although theres a couple of nice photos of him, they dont do justice to the solid wall of mobile flesh that doesnt know how to back away thats the real Karl
