Love this track...I'm going to have to update my will in the next couple of weeks...think I'll request this to be played at my funeral.

Dennis,

All the marches they do are at that pace unless we're marching operationally i.e. with packs and weapons etc when they march like madmen.

So yes, I've done the slow stuff a bunch of times but never did the march in Paris on Bastille day. (I actually prided myself on how many times I avoided doing parade type bollocks)

Hi Nick,

The song is called 'SGT McKenzie', I think; it was written by the great grandson of a Scotsman killed in WW1 in memory of the old fella. I'll hunt out the story behind it; very poignant. As a Scot and an ex-serviceman, it hit me hard the first time I heard it...

Bryson,

I should have included the history...I tracked it down last night when I was seeking a link to the song.

Incidentally mate, if you've never read "Heart of a Soldier" you need to. It's the story of the guy who the movie was kind of based on who ended up doing corporate security in the twin towers. He died going back in to get more of his people out when the towers came down. Also, his mate predicted the aircraft attack years before it happened but nobody listened.

Great book

The Cornishman - Rick Rescorla.

Who's image was on the original book before the actor Mel Gibson's clown replaced it.

I've just found another one that I'm including on my list.

Taff Treflan...make sure they play this one as well. It's called "How it Ends" which is pretty appropriate.
