Good Man Gone

Last night I was at work when I got the news one of my old students had been killed in the line of duty.

Charlotte Police Officer Sean Clark was killed along with a partner when ambushed after settling a domestic dispute. It's early days yet but based on witness acounts they were set up. Neither of them had their weapons out and they were scuffling with someone when another individual walked up and shot one in the head and one in the neck at close range.

Whether or not this was planned or merely an opportunist taking advantage is not known as there were no other officers present to witness what happened.

Sean was one of the world's genuine nice guys. He was the type who'd do things for people without being asked to - and of course he'd be there at a moments notice when you asked for his help.

His wife is currently pregnant, and they have a three year old son Bradon who now gets to grow up without his old man.

Sean had only been on the force seven months, fulfilling his life long dream of being one of Charlotte's finest, when this happened.

Yes, an arrest has been made. Young gangsta with a long arrest history.
Sadly, he'll sit on death row here for about seventeen years - at taxpayer's expense - until they finally cap his arse.
