Sweep

Hi Nick,

found this short clip of Mr. Enoeda demonstrating a double leg sweep with a fake big right hander.

I think you talked about that on the GT Forum as one of your favourite techniques and just thought you maybe have some interest in that clip because you said it maybe only works for you because of your size.

Hi Julian,

Nice find mate...yep, that's very similar but the difference is Mr Enoeda is mainly putting his foot behind and using the hand to take the guy over his leg.

When I do mine most of the power is in the sweep and I used to get guys about 4-5 feet in the air...lots of that comes from my height, my size and years of practicing sweeps in Judo.

How would you go about training a technique like that? Looks pretty painful. Can't imagine you'd find to many willing partners

I never trained it at all. I'd done the regular one legged one in Judo and then later in kumite in karate. One night a guy had his legs a bit close together and I fluked snagging both of them. It was so effective I started actively going deeper and trying it on everyone I sparred with.

There was no willingness other than we're sparring together and I'm willing to clobber you while you try that shite on me LOL

Pretty much...the only thing missing is the fake right hand that I take in the opposite direction at the same time.
