Re: Deadliest Warrior Update
Yes indeed Nick I'm waiting for this with great anticipation. The show itself is a load of entertaining toss in my humble opinion (3 completely untrained people deciding what's effective???) but there you go looking forward watching it

Nick I hadn't checked the board in a while and then I check and see the posting about you coming out this way, after it happened. Kicked myself good for that. Hope to catch you if you come out this way in December. Were you at Halleck's place out in Libertyville?

Re: Deadliest Warrior Update
Thanks A LOT for the link mate.
Nick when i saw the knife section i thought that just the sight of you running towards to stab them would have given them a heart attack.

Re: Deadliest Warrior Update
I only wish they'd put all the knife stuff in brother. Due to their agenda and wanting him to win the knife section they took a bunch of my stuff out. If you look carefully you'll see the knife is in one grip at the start and completely different at the end. I flipped that thing in mid-air while diving for the dummy that I'd kicked loose and sent out of camera range. They filmed that flip afterwards with slow mo and from several angles so I thought they'd include it on the episode but sadly not.
The edge also changed directions mid-flight between targets, check it out on the reverse rip and then see where it's at during the rapid slashing etc a second later....again, they dropped it.
They also left out the bit where the Dr said it was a lesson in anatomy...that I'd hit ever single vital organ and target that could be hit.
Nick
PS: After having seen the kukri stuff first hand I don't rate it at all. I think Kukri might be a Nepalese word for "bent machete."

Re: Deadliest Warrior Update
Just saw this, we don't get that program down here I don't think.
Obviously not being a soldier I've never been trained to this level in edge weapon fighting but everything I have been taught and read - Fairburn/Applegate/Sykes etc - is the antithesis of what the Gurka did there. No stealth, would have woken up and been shot by the 'sleeping soldier' much earlier, wild slashes that looked like a street fight and who uses head kicks on the battlefield... no kicks above the knee is the mantra isn't it?!

Re: Deadliest Warrior Update
Should be, especially with a pile of kit on.
He is a HUGE fan of Bruce Lee and was talking the whole time about being discovered and becoming a movie star a la Jet Li so I think his goal was to showboat instead of doing what he should have done.
